Zingy Barbeque Sauce

Recipe for Zingy Barbeque Sauce
1/2 cup olive oil
2/3 cup onions, diced
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup white wine vinegar
3 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
juice from one small lemon
1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 cups ketchup
To taste:
chili powder
Salt/black pepper
Tabasco sauce (7 drops)

Saute the onions in the oil until soft and translucent. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes until sauce is reduced and thickened.

Grill the meat (chicken or pork chops) until almost done before adding the sauce. This keeps the sugar in the sauce from burning.

Not So Fast Spaghetti and Meatballs from the NYT

I spent an afternoon creating two recipes which appear in the New York Times. The recipes were for The Zappa Family Spahetti Sauce and Meatballs.

There was nothing too hard and the biggest time user was the 2.5 hours simmering. But that doesn't take any effort on my part and fills the house with wonderful smells.
